Secretary Bird (Sagittarius serpentarius)
Endemic to Africa, the Secretary Bird is usually thought to be named for the pen-like quills at its neck. It seems more likely, however, that this raptor's name comes from the Arabic "saqr-et-tair", meaning hunter bird.
