Dung beetles are truly fascinating creatures that feed almost exclusively on dung that they roll into balls for easy transport as a food source and a nesting site for their young. The male has the real work - the female (not visible here)just rides along and serves as ballast for the dung ball. We were fortunate to observe this gentleman at his work (not what safari enthusiasts normally have as a focus.)
