Trinity Russian Orthodox Church, built to honor the Russian explorers of Antarctica, was constructed in Altay, Russia, dismantled, and transported by trucks and ship to this hillside above the Russian Antarctic Station Bellinsgausen on King George Island. It took two years to reassemble the church - the opening ceremony was held on February 15, 2004.
